Session 1: Screaming Swords and Ghost Doors

Starting Day: 4th day of Orupeim, 459

Days Transpired: 1

Player Characters: Fjalenar (Ben), Ineia (Sophia), Tenuyala (Augusta), Herek (Hope)

Absent: Inayin (PJ)

Recap: The party gathered at the Crescent Moon Inn on the King's Road just outside Cheykor, each having received mysterious summons to meet at the turning of the year. Sergeant Abar, the inn's grizzled proprietor, explained that the landlady—Reiana the Sword-maiden—had intended to meet them herself, but she departed on urgent business three months ago. In her absence, he tasked them with finding Eimalua, one of Reiana's trusted companions who vanished while investigating strange occurrences in Cheykor. The party examined a rubbing of an inscription that had appeared on ancient stonework: a message from Eimalua claiming to be "lost in yesterday," trapped by Nalshbori during some event involving a bell. Armed with a list of locations experiencing temporal disturbances, the adventurers set out to investigate.

Their first stop brought them to the house of Clan Yaneigal, where a bitter old veteran named Herek showed them his family's heirloom sword—an ancient bronze blade that has begun screaming, bleeding, and ringing like a bell on the full moon (and recently, the new moon as well). The phenomenon started six or seven months ago and has grown more frequent. Next, they visited Elder Kaneral, one of Cheykor's three town elders, who shared his own unsettling experience: a few days ago during the full moon, a door in his house briefly transported him back to his childhood home on the moors—a place that burned down in a Nalshbori raid decades ago. He witnessed the moment from both perspectives: as his childhood self and as the mysterious stranger his mother had seen just days before the house burned. Both men reported hearing distant bell-ringing during these events. The party attempted to interview Elder Falaru, the third town elder, but her servant turned them away. Elder Kaneral warned them that Falaru is a difficult woman who claims to have "the sight" and suggested they might have better luck approaching her with questions of an oracular nature.
